So, for NaNo the last thing I wrote was on Friday, like 500-something words (538, I think) bringing my total to like 6000-something. Aaaand I haven't touched it since GO ME

Saturday skyped with girlyarm for seven hours. Due to a lucky accident I recorded the whole thing. We pretty much snarked badfic and badfic authors the whole time. It was fun. <3

Sunday the roomie and I went into the city and saw an Off-Broadway performance of the Playboy of the Western World. Good times.

Monday my Latin professor didn't show up so no class, woohoo. Monday night went to the football stadium with my friend Kiera and her suitemates to see the meteor shower. Got extra credit for my astronomy class which was good. Kinda made up for the fact that I didn't see one damn meteor and Kiera saw two. Now we had gotten there at around 11:20 and left sometime between 12:15 and 1:00 and went back to Kiera's suite. We decided to wait until three in the morning then go back outside. We watched Fanboys, which is a glorious movie let me tell you, and it ended at around 2:30ish. We went back outside, stared at the sky for a bit, saw nothing, then Kiera and her friends decided to go to bed, so I walked back to my dorm. Got back at three, finished some homework, went outside at four, still didn't see any meteors. Then I went back inside and read a book for a bit before going to bed at five because I was bored. I had originally planned on staying up all night. Anywho, have class at nine on Tues so I set my alarm for seven to give me extra time to wake up and eat something substantial buuut I slept through my alarm. My internal alarm clock is magical, though, so I woke up on my own at 8:10.

The rest of Tuesday was ok. Exhausted all morning and afternoon but in the evening I was really awake. Also, I was gripped by a drawing frenzy and drew one of my NaNo characters and planned the color scheme for her and her outfit.

Today did things for Newman Club in between classes. We had a bake sale. :3 Other than that today was normal.

So. Um, yeah. Gonna watch some LPs maybe, study for my astronomy test tomorrow, then try to get to bed early.

Anywho, was at home yesterday and mom had brought home Bowser's ashes on Friday. They're in a floral tin which is so Bowser, let me tell you. We're gonna bury some of his ashes with his favorite toys some time during the week. I miss my puppy. ;_; Oh, and the cremation place sent us a sympathy card and it made it cry because it was about how doggy souls live on the other side of the rainbow and frolic and wait for their masters. It was kinda cheesy but stillllll.

Oh, and Saturday morning I got inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, which is like an Honors Society. Not to sound arrogant but I've been on honor roll for like my whole life, I took all honors classes in high school, was in National Honors Society, and I'm in honors college, so getting invited to Phi Eta Sigma was not surprising at all. Anyway, the ceremony was so awkward and boring. Luckily some friends of mine were there too and were sitting near me so we chatted for a bit. The rest of the time I played Katamari on my phone. After that went home and had a nice dinner with my grandma for her birthday. c:

Anyway, archaeology lab on Tuesday was fun. We sorted artifacts. Had to go through bags of stuff from different areas of this site my professor's been digging at (somewhere on the island, probably Suffolk or something) and sort out the shells, bones, and ceramics. I totally found some sort of animal pelvis and what was quite possibly a femur. And the designs on some of the ceramic shards were really pretty. And I made my professor very happy because I suggested he play classic rock (Boston and Pink Floyd, specifically) on Pandora and he was all, "NO ONE EVER PICKS CLASSIC ROCK YOU ARE MY NEW FAVORITE STUDENT I AM SO HAPPY." Lawl.

Wednesday was a conversion day since there weren't classes on Monday so I had Latin and aaauugh, Nepos. My translation was a trainwreck. So awful. Even my professor was all, "Lol this is kinda hard." Nepos, you are supposed to be a Cool Dude, stop writing like a poet it is confusingggg

Oh, and the soup they were serving today was shrimp bisque, which did not taste very much like shrimp or bisque, but it was good in a general sort of way. Naturally my mom's shrimp bisque is better. I hope she makes it for Christmas. I think Christmas is at our house this year and it's always a hit.

Oh, and my book came in! Eight Strokes of the Clock! Mom's going to drop it off here after work. I am soooooooo excited. /nerd

Well, I am going to start my Ancient Greek homework then attempt my Latin. See y'all around.

Or maybe I am feeling crappy because I have only one disc left of Supernatural season 2 to watch and I know I have no time this week to watch it. THAT'S PROBABLY IT. (Speaking of Supernatural, omg, that episode, Heart? Yeah, I cried like a little bitch omgggg. Aaaand now I want to watch the Mystery Spot episode because Asia just started playing on iTunes lol)

In Ancient Greek today, class was awesome as usual and we were translating shit and going over the second aorist and all that. Then I noticed something sticking out of Professor Smith's pocket. I couldn't tell what it was. It was flesh colored, though, so I thought maybe a gag rubber finger. But why would he have that? Then he turned a certain way and I swear it looked like a penis and I was all "Wtf a gag rubber penis? AAAUGH WHY WOULD HE HAVE THAT?" I could not think of anything that would warrant him having that. I was like, "Maybe he taught one of his LGBT classes before this? NO WHY WOULD HE NEED IT FOR THAT, THAT STILL DOES NOT EXPLAIN IIIIT" and then he turned another way and it looked like it had legs. So my mind is exploding until Natalie says cheerfully, "Hey, you have a pig in your pocket!"

And he pulled it out of his pocket. It was a pig keychain that has a button that makes its' snout light up.

I wanted to headdesk so hard.

I also want to know why I keep passing eye exams when it's obvious that I cannot see shit.

And in Art History, our Professor ran in, put in a video, told us he had to monitor some event and couldn't stay, told us not to leave or else he'd prosecute and kill us (it was more lulzy than I'm making it sound, honest), and ran off. Said he'd be back in 35 minutes. Most boring vid everrr. Something about Mesopotamia, idk. Doodled the whole time. When it was over, watched HI I'M THE DEKU SPROUT and listened to Patrick Swayze Christmas on my ipod and doodled some more while waiting for the prof. to get back. Aaand he never did come back so we all left, haha.

In other news, purchased an art commission today! I'm very excited to see the results. :3 Also I am nearly done with Metroid Prime, just gotta finish the scans and collect the rest of the artifacts and expansions. Fun times!

Anyway, I had my first Astronomy lab last night. We observed Jupiter and Ursa Major, yo. Of course, this is New York, so we didn't have the best conditions, ahaha. Still, it was a nice night otherwise and the lab was simple and relaxing. Only thing is, we finished at around 10:30, so I'm walking back to my dorm by myself in the dark, and over the weekend someone at my school was gang raped, so I was totally paranoid while walking back and even my roommate was like, "YOU WERE ALONE? WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENED TO YOUUUU D:" Now I am even more paranoid. Luckily I don't have any night classes.

Uuhhh. I had something else to say but I can't remember what it is. :/

I have a checklist for missiles, energy tanks, and power bombs. I'm doing the scans on my own, though. Luckily I'm a paranoid scanner, haha.

Mm. Feel kinda crappy. Maybe I'll do my homework in a couple of minutes and make some tea and get to bed early. I went to bed later than I wanted last night and I slept badly and I've been out of it all day.

Oh, and my laptop charger is broken or something, I have to apply pressure to it to get it to charge and sometimes even that doesn't work (like right now). I ordered a new one on Sunday. I hope it comes in soon, I really need it.

So since my old phone was fucked to shit by my dropping it in the pool two weeks ago, I got a new one two days ago and I named it Sokka, 'cause it is so Water Tribe, y'all.

I moved into my dorm two days ago, as well. There are no overhead lights in this room, which saddens me like crazy because it is so dark even with desk lamps. :( But I can't complain, because I have a waaay better roomie this semester and we're in a corner so the room's bigger than most of the others in our building.

Oh, and I bought Supernatural season 2 yesterday and I watched the first disc last night and EVERY EPISODE MADE ME CRY LOL. I mean, I am sad about Daddy Winchester and I'm sad that Dean and Sam are sad but really, now. Also, I have never been scared of clowns before (regular circus clowns or Pennywise or anything). THANKS FOR MAKING ME SCARED OF CLOWNS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER SUPERNATURAL. THANKS.

Classes start tomorrow, you guys. Ancient Greek in the morning and Art History (I think?) in the afternoon. I think Wednesday is the only day when my schedule isn't ridiculous. :/ Also, I am kinda dreading advanced Latin.

INTERRUPTING MY LJ HIATUS TO BRING YOU THESE UNIMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS.

1) I have only two more papers and three more finals left. My social sciences and Latin finals were today. I have no idea how I did on social sciences (nor do I care), but I know I kicked ass on the Latin final. I'm just sad because Professor Ferriss was only here for the year, so I'll never see her again. D: She's my most favorite professor ever. ;_______; I hope her new students in Miami appreciate her and recognize her awesomeness. Oh damn, I'm gonna cryyyyy TE AMO, MAGISTRA

2) I bought a microphone and downloaded new computer recording software (which is good because before I had Unregistered Hypercam 2 AAAHHHHHH) so I'm a step closer to making LPs! Of course, there are a million more steps to go (like getting a gamebridge and a gamepad and finding games to LP and writing scripts and practicing playing and lurking on SA for tips and storing information) so you won't see any LPs soon, haha. Unless I snap and LP OoT and break the shit out of it and use so many cheats and glitches that my emulator explodes. That would be both sad and funny.

3) I GOT A NEW HAIRCUT ON MONDAY! Chopped off at least 4-5 inches, omg.

4) After my last final on Friday, I'll be away on a glorious Florida vacation until the 20th. :)

I have yet to see a really good prank. :/ Although some of the comments in the latest fandomsecrets entry made me lol. Otherwise... yeah, no.

Anywho, my insomnia was awful last night, holy shit. I usually try to get to bed around 1-1:30 but I was still wide awake. Wide awake and tired, which is the most awful combination in the world. :( So after a little bit I decided to watch the Fox and the Hound and I cried far too much. AND I THOUGHT THE CRYING WOULD HELP ME FALL ASLEEP, LOL SILLY ME. Movie ended at around... um... 2:45-3:00? Aaaand I didn't fall asleep until 4:30-5:00, and I had to wake up at 7:45. I could hardly get out of bed.

And tomorrow I have my writing midterm, woe. I hate midterms. And this one is so late. Whaaaat?

OH, ALSO. Humanities class. Got a C+ on my paper. ;_____; Worst grade so far this semester. Professor Sills is a really hard grader but I can't seem to hate him, because he's a fellow hardcore Lord of the Rings fan and he's just plain awesome. Damn. Speaking of, I really wanna read LotR again but I don't want to commit, haha.

Mmm. Yeah. I have some Greek homework to finish and fanfic research to do for that Gerudo-centric Zelda fic I mentioned before at some point.

Today started awful. I slept through my alarm, had a huuuge headache, and I had hurt my neck yesterday and it still hurt a lot this morning. I almost stayed in my room but dude. I'm not missing Ancient Greek. Class was actually pretty awesome and my headache was gone by the end. I thought it would come back when I asked Professor Smith if Greek has gerunds/gerundives/passive periphrastic and whatnot and he said yeah but they're easier to master in Greek than in Latin. Oh, and we talked about digamma! <3

Lunch after that. Wasn't hungry but forced myself to eat a sammich anyway.

Then while waiting for my writing class to start I tried playing my Metroid Fusion on my DS and it died. D: And since the save file is corrupt, I lost everything. I had just gotten the high jump on Tuesday. THIS IS WHY WE CHARGE OUR ELECTRONICS, KIDS.

My iPod died too, but I was listening to depressing songs from Scrubs anyway, so maybe that was a good thing. :P

Started on poetry in writing class. It was chill.

We were in groups discussing some paper or whatever and my group was done and we were talking about the local beaches and I hear my professor saying to a kid sitting near him, "Do you play video games? Like, World of Warcraft?" I turn around and listen and the kid is all, "Uhhh, sorta?" And... *script formats 'cause I am lazy*

Me: What do you need to know, Professor?
Professor: Are you a gamer?
Me: Yeah, what's up?
Professor: Well, you know games like WoW? With guilds and stuff?
Me: Well, yeah.
Professor: I was wondering... well, you know that whisper feature?
Me: *thinks* Um, yes? Well, I don't really play MMORPGs...

Me: Mass Mulitplayer Online games, like WoW, I don't play. Can't afford 'em. So I'm not too knowledgeable about specific in-game mechanics-

Me: Oh, I'm sure it's possible.
Kid: Yeah, you can definitely send a whisper between guild members no matter where they are in real life.

Professor: Ah, ok. Now, World of Warcraft is a copyrighted name so I can't use that name, can I? Hm.
Me: Wait, are you making up a name? Because you can pretty much make up a nonsense word and people will buy it. Like... World of... something... silly.
Professor: Yeah, a lot of those games have weird names, don't they? And general "World of-" isn't copyrighted.
Me: If anything, for a name, you can take a Latin or Greek word and mangle it and make it "World of insert-mangled-Latin-here." Or "Sword of-" or "Scrolls of-" or whatever sounds pretty.
Professor: Say, that's a good idea. I'll try it. Thanks.
Me: No problem.

I think he said earlier in the class that he was writing another novel. I bought two of his other novels and they were detective stories, so perhaps this new story is also a detective story, but with gaming. :0 I'm totally gonna buy it if it is. :D

(Only problem is that I read the prologue of one of the books and it was written awfully, imo. I need to read the rest and the sequel to see if his writing is more like, you know, a detective story than a history paper.)

There's a study abroad in Italy this summer that has a focus on archeology! Which is awesome as hell, 'cause, y'know. Archeology. Also, had my Latin midterm today. It was... eh. Just eh.

And I had a small chat with Professor Ferris and I'm probably gonna start Greek in the Spring. If I have the same classes as this semester, I can most likely handle Greek on top of them. And then next fall I'll be done with my Latin and I can take both Greek and Italian or something. :P Or maybe I'll take a writing class? Or an art class?

Speaking of art, I've been drawing Zelda like crazy. I keep drawing her using different styles, too, but her pose always ends up the same. :/ Hm.

Soooo. Hofstra orientation. Goooood times. Paul from SCS was in my orientation group. We had a fabulous moment of recognition and then we didn't really talk to each other after that, ahaha.

Met some cool people, saw some other Kberg kids, wasted my money on novels in the bookstore...

Oh, and you know how I'm a complete sucker for guys with foreign accents? There was a kid there from South Africa. You couldn't really tell because he looked like any other gangly white boy but he had an adorable accent- mostly British mixed with some other presumably African accents. See, we had this Hofstra Idol thing Wednesday night, and a couple of people sang stuff, and then the South African kid went up and said something like, "My roommates promised me four dollars in nickels if I came up and sang. But please note that when I sing I sound like a cat in heat being attacked by a troop of eagles." He sang a silly song and it was amazing. He was hilariously awful. And afterwards people kept going up to him and asking if he was faking his accent. xD He was kinda cute. I stalked him for a bit. *shot* And after Idol we had a dance party. :D

Yesterday we registered for classes. I have my required Culture and Expression class Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; Math Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; Latin 3 Monday and Wednesday; and my required Writing class Tuesday and Thursday. 15 credtis. Good stuff.

So yeah, I do believe that is it. :3 I wanna draw with mah tablet now.
