I am facebook stalking my Ancient Greek professor I think there is something wrong with me.

Also, I am looking for adult size hobbit costumes and I am very disappointed that they only come in child sizes. And then I was looking at how to make one's own hobbit costume and there is hemming involved and I have never tried any form of sewing ever before. Also, I'd have to buy all the individual parts of the outfit and, frankly, I think the cost would be a bit too much, assuming I find the right sort of items. I'd go to a thrift store but I have no one to take me.

Anyway, FotR on Saturday was amazing. Mom very nearly got Howard Shore's autograph until some lady dragged him away. Luckily, they're doing Two Towers next year, so maybe I'll get his autograph then! This is so exciting, it's like I'm back in early 2002, looking forward to the next two movies.

Well, I am going to color a pic for a bit, then perhaps read more LotR.

Today sucks. I miss my dog.

Also, I keep getting these "doing it wrong" vibes. I'm trying to distract myself with TV and internet but it feels wrong. I'm not sure what to do. I've never really dealt with death before, at least not so directly. Except with my birds, but that was different. Tweety and Sylvester... well, I only had them for two or three years and I didn't really bond with them, y'know? Well, ok, I tried but gave up because bonding was equivalent to sticking my hand in the cage and having them poop on me.

But, I mean, I accepted that Bowser's dead but not that he's gone, if that makes any sense. His toys and his bowls are still here and I keep tearing up because he's never going to play or eat ever again.

Anyway, tonight mom and I are seeing the Fellowship of the Ring at Radio City, with a live orchestra and chorus. I've been looking forward to this since July but now I feel guilty about enjoying something so soon. I mean... augh, this is so hard I don't know, guys, I just don't know. I just hope it gets easier soon. I'm an emotional type and prone to sadness and melancholy as it is. Speaking of, I have such a love for LotR that it moves me to tears even on my good days, so I might be sobbing tonight. Man, whoever I'm sitting next to is gonna love me.

Rgh, you know what also sucks? I have my period, so now I have physical pain tacked on to the emotional pain.

Also, I am nearly done with my second readthrough of Good Omens, so now I'm closer to starting my fourth readthrough of LotR, haha.

Anyway, archaeology lab on Tuesday was fun. We sorted artifacts. Had to go through bags of stuff from different areas of this site my professor's been digging at (somewhere on the island, probably Suffolk or something) and sort out the shells, bones, and ceramics. I totally found some sort of animal pelvis and what was quite possibly a femur. And the designs on some of the ceramic shards were really pretty. And I made my professor very happy because I suggested he play classic rock (Boston and Pink Floyd, specifically) on Pandora and he was all, "NO ONE EVER PICKS CLASSIC ROCK YOU ARE MY NEW FAVORITE STUDENT I AM SO HAPPY." Lawl.

Wednesday was a conversion day since there weren't classes on Monday so I had Latin and aaauugh, Nepos. My translation was a trainwreck. So awful. Even my professor was all, "Lol this is kinda hard." Nepos, you are supposed to be a Cool Dude, stop writing like a poet it is confusingggg

Oh, and the soup they were serving today was shrimp bisque, which did not taste very much like shrimp or bisque, but it was good in a general sort of way. Naturally my mom's shrimp bisque is better. I hope she makes it for Christmas. I think Christmas is at our house this year and it's always a hit.

Oh, and my book came in! Eight Strokes of the Clock! Mom's going to drop it off here after work. I am soooooooo excited. /nerd

Before I stop procrastinating and finally begin that essay that's due tomorrow, I just want to say that I really wish I was on the internets during the Domlijah days. Well, ok, I already was on the internet at around that time (like, '03-'04), but I didn't frequent the right places. Oh, just imagine. Run-ins with the Tinhats, the fandom_wank entries, the exchange of lovely slashy pics of the actors... never mind that I was a 13 year old girl who didn't know much about RPS (or slash in general) then, haha.

I mean, I'm looking at the wanky Supernatural tinhats who think Jensen and Jared are banging each other for reals, and the fandom_wank vets are reminiscing about the Domlijah fangirls' batshit antics, and I'm sitting there thinking, "Wow, I wish I was there for that." LotR was so wanky, and I'm such a huge LotR fan that I'm disappointed I didn't experience the LotR's wankiness in its prime. I missed out on the Tinhats, on Crystalwank, on website petitions and the Arwen haters...

I am lucky that I was there for the Sparkledammerung, though. Twilight wank is always glorious and special, especially since SMeyer is as batshit as the fans. Wank and insanity from all sides! Oh, and the Lexicon case. HP wank is awesome, too. Ok, so even if I did miss out on the prime LotR wanks, at least I witnessed some other epic wanks first hand.

And now the word "wank" has lost all meaning, haha.

Bah, April Fools Day.

I have yet to see a really good prank. :/ Although some of the comments in the latest fandomsecrets entry made me lol. Otherwise... yeah, no.

Anywho, my insomnia was awful last night, holy shit. I usually try to get to bed around 1-1:30 but I was still wide awake. Wide awake and tired, which is the most awful combination in the world. :( So after a little bit I decided to watch the Fox and the Hound and I cried far too much. AND I THOUGHT THE CRYING WOULD HELP ME FALL ASLEEP, LOL SILLY ME. Movie ended at around... um... 2:45-3:00? Aaaand I didn't fall asleep until 4:30-5:00, and I had to wake up at 7:45. I could hardly get out of bed.

And tomorrow I have my writing midterm, woe. I hate midterms. And this one is so late. Whaaaat?

OH, ALSO. Humanities class. Got a C+ on my paper. ;_____; Worst grade so far this semester. Professor Sills is a really hard grader but I can't seem to hate him, because he's a fellow hardcore Lord of the Rings fan and he's just plain awesome. Damn. Speaking of, I really wanna read LotR again but I don't want to commit, haha.

Mmm. Yeah. I have some Greek homework to finish and fanfic research to do for that Gerudo-centric Zelda fic I mentioned before at some point.

And lo, as the sun crept low behind the grey clouds and the first lights were lit in the academic halls, and as cool winds stirred wine colored leaves across green lawns and worn walkways, hazel eyes read the last ten words on the thousand and eighth page and the passing of the Third Age was witnessed. And tears flowed for joy and for sadness.

Yes, you read correctly, I finished my third readthrough of The Lord of the Rings! Called my mom in tears and everything. Hopefully my fourth readthough won't take three fucking years.

I am deeply in love with this fanfic. It ate six glorious hours of my life. <3

Anywho, visited home today. Spent my time watching That '70s Show and playing Zelda II. I actually injured my thumb playing that stupid game. That game is hard. :( Luckily, dinner was amazing. And I got to pick up my Aragorn action figure and Furuba plushies for Open House tomorrow. (I'm gonna help run the SCAFFU table and I offered to bring in shit that represents our club. So Aragorn, Yuki, and Tohru it is! And maybe Dosa Dosa. And Charizard. And some manga. And my One Ring, which I'll wear and flaunt and pretend to be invisible with. STOP JUDGING ME. D:)

Um. Yes. Hopefully that Mike guy will be there so I can get my JtHM back (I let him borrow it).

Autumn is usually the time when I get irresistible urges to read LotR. I don't know why 'specially since I got my copy on Christmas of 2001, so really, where's the connection?.

Anyway, I think Autumn's a season in itself. My faaaavorite season. Y'know, cause the leaves are pretty and I snuggle with my LotR at night the weather gets colder. I like the cold. ♥ But... I guess it's also a transition period. But I'm too tired to be philosophical about it.
