I am in a good mood.

Thanksgiving vacation has started, I'm going back to visit my high school tomorrow for Alumni Day, and I've started my second readthrough of It. I was going to read 'Salem's Lot again (4th or 5th time, don't quite remember which) buuut Pennywise called to me. After that, either 'Salem's Lot or The Stand (which I have not read yet which mom keeps telling me to read, haha).

Man, I love Stephen King.

Speaking of, I read Rose Madder again and this time around I loved it. I even liked the epilogue. So now I can say with 100% sincerity that I've never met a Stephen King book I didn't like.

Well, I have to be up bright and early tomorrow so I think I'll read a bit more of It then go to bed.

Oh man and now that I think about it I wish I hadn't left my DVD of It in my dorm room. That movie was so so bad but so so good. Oh well.

Yeah, didn't NaNo yesterday because I was watching Are You Afraid of the Dark? for six hours. Then today I got hit by a bout of apathy (which happens far too often than I am comfortable with) but I got over it in two hours which is really damn quick. But then I couldn't quite figure out what to write but I started a passage and hopefully I'll think of a way to finish it tomorrow.

Buuut the passage was like some horror novel type shit I don't even know. So, like, so far it's an action/adventure humor story with horror thrown in.

Well I was thinking of Stephen King before I started writing so it's not surprising. :/

Speaking of, maybe I'll read 'Salem's Lot or It or Rose Madder or something. I am in the mood.

Also, I am nearly done with my second readthrough of Good Omens, so now I'm closer to starting my fourth readthrough of LotR, haha.

Anyway, archaeology lab on Tuesday was fun. We sorted artifacts. Had to go through bags of stuff from different areas of this site my professor's been digging at (somewhere on the island, probably Suffolk or something) and sort out the shells, bones, and ceramics. I totally found some sort of animal pelvis and what was quite possibly a femur. And the designs on some of the ceramic shards were really pretty. And I made my professor very happy because I suggested he play classic rock (Boston and Pink Floyd, specifically) on Pandora and he was all, "NO ONE EVER PICKS CLASSIC ROCK YOU ARE MY NEW FAVORITE STUDENT I AM SO HAPPY." Lawl.

Wednesday was a conversion day since there weren't classes on Monday so I had Latin and aaauugh, Nepos. My translation was a trainwreck. So awful. Even my professor was all, "Lol this is kinda hard." Nepos, you are supposed to be a Cool Dude, stop writing like a poet it is confusingggg

Oh, and the soup they were serving today was shrimp bisque, which did not taste very much like shrimp or bisque, but it was good in a general sort of way. Naturally my mom's shrimp bisque is better. I hope she makes it for Christmas. I think Christmas is at our house this year and it's always a hit.

Oh, and my book came in! Eight Strokes of the Clock! Mom's going to drop it off here after work. I am soooooooo excited. /nerd

Well, I am going to start my Ancient Greek homework then attempt my Latin. See y'all around.

Yesterday was a good day. :)

I ordered a 1922 hardcover first edition of Eight Strokes of the Clock by Maurice Leblanc. Seller said it was in good condition. Some dog-eared pages and some stains but this thing's been around since the '20s so that is absolutely fine. I cannot wait for it to arrive~ x3

Also, I got a haircut yesterday!

So, my writing teacher. Older man, 50-60 years old, seemingly old-fashioned.

Yeah, he was talking about World of Warcraft today.

We were in groups discussing some paper or whatever and my group was done and we were talking about the local beaches and I hear my professor saying to a kid sitting near him, "Do you play video games? Like, World of Warcraft?" I turn around and listen and the kid is all, "Uhhh, sorta?" And... *script formats 'cause I am lazy*

Me: What do you need to know, Professor?
Professor: Are you a gamer?
Me: Yeah, what's up?
Professor: Well, you know games like WoW? With guilds and stuff?
Me: Well, yeah.
Professor: I was wondering... well, you know that whisper feature?
Me: *thinks* Um, yes? Well, I don't really play MMORPGs...
Professor: Eh?
Me: Mass Mulitplayer Online games, like WoW, I don't play. Can't afford 'em. So I'm not too knowledgeable about specific in-game mechanics-
Professor: Oh, no, I just want to know if a person in say, Pakistan, can send a whisper to someone in America.
Me: Oh, I'm sure it's possible.
Kid: Yeah, you can definitely send a whisper between guild members no matter where they are in real life.
Professor: And no one else in the guild can hear the whisper, right? It's just the two people?
Me and Kid: Yup.
Professor: Ah, ok. Now, World of Warcraft is a copyrighted name so I can't use that name, can I? Hm.
Me: Wait, are you making up a name? Because you can pretty much make up a nonsense word and people will buy it. Like... World of... something... silly.
Professor: Yeah, a lot of those games have weird names, don't they? And general "World of-" isn't copyrighted.
Me: If anything, for a name, you can take a Latin or Greek word and mangle it and make it "World of insert-mangled-Latin-here." Or "Sword of-" or "Scrolls of-" or whatever sounds pretty.
Professor: Say, that's a good idea. I'll try it. Thanks.
Me: No problem.

I think he said earlier in the class that he was writing another novel. I bought two of his other novels and they were detective stories, so perhaps this new story is also a detective story, but with gaming. :0 I'm totally gonna buy it if it is. :D

(Only problem is that I read the prologue of one of the books and it was written awfully, imo. I need to read the rest and the sequel to see if his writing is more like, you know, a detective story than a history paper.)

Howdy. Got back from my Crazy Catskills Fourth of July Adventure on Sunday. It was fun stuff, srsly. :0

Uuummm. I have work tomorrow. ;_; I don't wanna gooooo. I wouldn't mind it so much if mom didn't wake me up at the crack of dawn. I don't care that we get to leave earlier than anyone else at the end of the day. I have trouble falling asleep at night, and waking up early? Uh, yeah, it KILLS ME DEAD. Ugh.

In other news, I made fudge today, watched some G4 Rewind, drew a comic for foraslaaan, and now I'm gonna get ready for bed and read some Shojo manga before lying awake in the dark until the wee hours of morning. ^___^

Passed my drivers ed final. I'm so happy it's over with. It was a bitch, waking up in the morning and thinking, "Shit, I have to drive today."

I dunno, driving doesn't do anything for me. :/ I mean, when I get my license, I'm sure I'll use it, but I'll probably only be driving to bookstores anyway.

Speaking of books, my new Nightrunner isn't here yet. ;_____; I waaaaant it.

And my Phoenix Wright is still backordered. Bleh.

One last thing: I got a crazy idea for a Fruits Basket fanfic that I really want to write. I'll try to write chapter one and then see if it's something I can handle. I mean, it has a plot. I hardly even know what a plot is. Oh, humor fic, how you corrupt me.

Why hello thar.

I'm done with school. 8D Last final was today. After that I got home, watched the Senior Trip DVD, and cried.

Anyway, went to Best Buy today to find some Phoenix or GU, and of course Best Buy had neither so I got Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness instead. Imma Torchic named Tamir, and my friend is a Mudkip named Seregil. Since I was going for a Lynn Flewelling theme, I probably should have named our team Team Skala or Team Illior instead of Team Balmung. :/ Oh well.

I was up till two in the morning reading nineteen chapters of Oracle's Queen. Which isn't as insane as reading twenty-five chapters of Bone Doll's Twin until six in the morning. But last night was a school night, so I got less than four hours of sleep and I was exhausted all day.

Only Lynn's books make me stay up until unreasonable hours, sobbing and squealing and chattering excitedly to myself the whole time. Like, honestly, Chapter 39 made me flail and squee and laugh hysterically. And when Korin sentenced Lutha and Barieus and Cal, I was crying so hard. ;_; My little Luthaaaa, I thought I would lose you agaaaain. *cling* I've grown so attached to him, it's scary.
